Finding comedy in dire situations is a tightrope this movie walks successfully. Salem (winner Venice Film Festival Best Actor Kais Nashef) is a Palestinian and low-level production assistant on the soap opera "Tel Aviv on Fire" in Ramallah. Following a lie that he tells Asi (Yaniv Biton), an officer at the checkpoint he must pass through every day to get to work, Salem is suddenly promoted to be a screenwriter on the show. There is only one problem—Salem can't write screenplays! Asi and Salem form an unlikely bond that shows that hummus solves all problems! Luxembourg’s submission for 2020 Oscars.
